Quadricon has been single minded in its pursuit of complete standardization of products for the bridge industry. The Company had to carry out all its R&D work by assuming full risks, working as contractors for real life projects. Most of these projects were pursued when conventional technologies could not meet the requirements like locations, due to the prevailing conditions.

As such the owners were prepared to trust the inventors and allow them to compromise with respect to relaxation in compliance to the existing design codes & specifications and "Industry Accepted Good Practices". Anomalous situations arose in every major project, necessitating innovations that drastically departed from existing codes. Such major Projects often caused financial disasters on the Company, which took on average 3 years to recover before R&D work could be restarted.
